Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character Kazuya Mishima launches June 29

Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series will be available as downloadable content for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on June 29 for $5.99 or $29.99 as part of the "Fighters Pass Vol. 2," Nintendo revealed.

Following Kazuya Mishima, director Masahiro Sakurai indicated that the next downloadable character will be the last.

“Now that I think about it, it’s been close to 10 years since Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems was in development,” (...) “I’ve been working on this for a long time. You could call it my life’s work. But finally, the next downloadable content fighter will be the last one. There won’t be any more after that. It’ll be a while before that announcement, but it’ll be available this year as planned.” director Masahiro Sakurai said.

On June 29, the vengeful Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken fighting game series will be available as part of the “Challenger Pack 10” downloadable content, which also includes a new stage and a selection of music songs from the decades-spanning Tekken franchise. Masahiro Sakurai, the Super Smash Bros. series director, gave a detailed look at the new Mishima Dojo stage and a deep dive into the new fighter's move set in a video hosted by him.

Challenger Pack 10 is part of the $29.99 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate “Fighters Pass Vol. 2,” which also includes Min Min from the ARMS game, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from the Final Fantasy series, Pyra / Mythra from the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game, and one unannounced fighter coming later this year. “Challenger Pack 10” is also available for $5.99 on its own.

Kazuya Mishima is one of the most known characters in the renowned fighting game series, having made his debut in the original Tekken game more than 25 years ago. Kazuya transitions from the Tekken arenas, where players must comprehend the spacing between characters and concentrate on where to hit their opponents in a 3D plane, to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate battlefields, where players must attack their opponents using 2D heights and distances. When compared to his Tekken beginnings, Kazuya displays a unique skill set in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate due to the change in gameplay dimensions.

Kazuya's main attacks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are similar to his fighting moves in Tekken, but his Devil's Power is used to give him the midair jumps, smash attacks, and special moves that the Super Smash Bros. series is known for. Kazuya may transform into a formidable winged demon in subsequent games in the Tekken series. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Kazuya will use this Devil's Power to perform numerous jumps, smash attacks, and special moves.

“Mishima Dojo,” the new level included in “Challenger Pack 10,” is the Mishima family's dojo, notably Kazuya's father Heihachi's. The dojo is closed in all directions, but severe attacks can break its walls and ceiling, converting the stage into treacherous terrain. The Mishima Dojo level is more grounded than many other stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate due to the lack of floating platforms, necessitating unique strategies when battling on it.

Players will also receive 39 audio tracks from the Tekken series after downloading "Challenger Pack 10," which includes a mix of tunes from previous and more recent games in the franchise. https://youtu.be/mTrROtf9zdg
