While the official launch of Windows 11 last week generated a lot of buzz, it turns out that behind all the glitz and glamour, switching to Microsoft's latest operating system wasn't as simple as it seemed. Simply said, when compared to previous OS releases, Windows 11 raises the bar in terms of system requirements. It is incompatible with even first-generation Ryzen CPUs.
However, using Microsoft's PC Health Check program was one of the most effective ways to determine whether or not your machine was in excellent working order. Even this, though, wasn't perfect because, while it would tell you why your machine wasn't ready for Windows 11, it wouldn't tell you why. Following a story from The Verge, Microsoft has just issued a new version that will now specifically notify you where the issue(s) are located in order to solve this evident issue highlighted in terms of being ready for their upcoming operating system.
Windows 11 – This PC Can’t Run It Because.
If you've previously been advised that your machine isn't Windows 11 compatible, launching the new updated version will now tell you why. As previously stated, the most of the concerns revolve around CPU compatibility, with users needing at least an 8th-gen Intel or Ryzen 2XXX CPU to upgrade. However, it could be as easy as a BIOS option that needs to be changed.
